And the winner is...

Its official, the winner of the highly publicized 'contest' is devan. Nearly three weeks deep into the challenge, sean couldn't hold out any longer and devan was left as the last man standing. How did he do it? Some say it was his incredible mental discipline, his uncanny mastery of his own biological domain, or simply his lack of interaction with the female gender. Everyone's opinion is their own, but somebody is $35 richer. One can only hope that his body will forgive him someday.

The are some big times ahead for the 1319 crew. Nate is on his way to Sarasota, FL to compete in the UPA Club Nationals Competition (http://club2008.upa.org/ for reigning champs Seattle Sockeye. If you're ambitious enough, the finals will be streaming live sunday morning at 6am PST.

For those housemates who aren't as ambitious, the stars have aligned for the next four weekends.

Oct. 31- Halloween (on a friday). Calling all slutty agents of the service industry; nurses, police officers, maids etc. Maybe it hasn't changed as much as we think; eat too much candy or drink too much booze, unpleasant morning either way.

Nov. 8-9- The first ultimate tournament of the season for Western. Low-grade ultimate, high-grade party and good times all around

Nov. 15- The annual Rubik's Cube theme party hosted by the womens ultimate team. Guaranteed mayhem from 1319. Is flanel on the Rubik's cube?

Nov. 22-23- Another Western ultimate tournament in Eugene, OR. These dudes know how to throw a great tournament in crappy weather and cap it all off with one of the most outrageous tournament parties around. One of DIRT's favorites.

So it looks like a busy month to come for the crew of 1319, lets all hope that school doesn't conflict with our busy schedule. Check back to see how many of us live through it all and how team 1319 fares. I only foresee good things to come.

Summer's Gone/The Contest

The summer season is now gone and project 1319 has hired on some new agents of debauchery for the fall season. Original members Chris and Devan still remain and are joined by newcomers Luke, Sean and Nate. These five assemble the first all-male crew of the 1319 enterprise and have thusly led to much lower consumption of hot water and dish soap. Toilet paper and television intake seem to be way up though...

Although much has happened at the franklin clubhouse since the last update, the first major endeavor of note by the faithful crew has been "The Contest." Inspired by the Seinfeld episode of the same name (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkklW7VEBHA&feature=related), all five residents as well as Ian and Todd agreed to partake in our own version. $5 per person, winner takes all the cash. I suppose with all the new testosterone floating around, some type of test of manliness had to come about.

As the contest began on Nov. 7 at 12:01am, only two of the original seven contestants remain. They fell in the following order: Nate, Luke, Todd, Chris and most recently Ian.

And now there are just two, Devan and Sean. Who will win? Both have their own strengths and weakness so all that can be said for sure is that there are many frustrating, anxious and sleep-deprived nights to come. The winner will be formally announced when he is crowned.

Stay tuned for more updates on the adventures of the 1319 fellowship.

Summer's Here

Well the school year is finally over and there are some big changes coming over the 1319 house. Wes is back in Maple Valley helping remodel the ole homestead and Chris is back to Spokane to visit his fam before he takes off the Egypt. Egypt you say? Thats right folks. Egypt. We're hoping he comes back with some Brendan Fraiser esque stories for us. Hopefully he doesn't come back Brendan Frasier esque or i'll shoot him. Kendra is back in Utah and she's got sumer camp coming up. Devan is still in Bellingham holding down the fort and awaiting our new temporary roommate Jacob. He's coming all the way from Stanford so hopefully we'll get a few insight into how to beat them next year. Well that's about all we have time for today, but expect more soon! Tah Tah for now!
